After the wedding

The Outback, Vernon

After the wedding, a few of us are heading to The Outback on Lake Okanagan for some downtime. You're welcome to come along.

What it is

We know travelling to BC is a big ask, so we're planning three relaxed days after the wedding for anyone who wants to stay on and enjoy the sun and the lake.

It's a cluster of cabins on the water in Vernon, about two hours south of Kamloops.

Want to come?

Space at the cabins is limited, so let us know if you're interested and we'll work out dates and rooms together.

What is there

On Lake Okanagan and at Ellison Park, a few minutes away.

Hiking
Trails straight from the cabins, up through pine and rock above the lake. Everything in the area is on AllTrails.
Boating
Out on the water for the day, or across to a bay you cannot reach on foot.
Beaches
Quiet stretches of shoreline, best in the late afternoon once the heat drops.
Climbing
Rock above the water, with routes for people who have never tied in before. The crag guide has the lot.
Swimming
The lake is warm by July and clear enough to see the bottom well out from shore.
Cliff diving
Jumps of all heights, so everyone can find one they're happy with.
Ellison Park
Provincial park next door: coves, a marine trail, and flat water for paddle boarding and kayaking.
Kalamalka beach
Twenty minutes away, on the warmest and bluest lake in the valley. Jade and Juniper bays for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking.
Wine tasting
The north end of the Okanagan is full of it. An afternoon of tasting rooms is an easy way to spend a day off the water.
